Under One Roof (518A Castro Street) – This unique shop was founded in 1990 when a group of friends joined together to create a small Christmas shop in a corner of the Name’s Project’s Market Street storefront, with all proceeds going to local AIDS service organizations (ASOs). Community response was enthusiastic and two years later, Under One Roof opened a year-round store, staffed by volunteers and dedicated to providing unrestricted funding to ASOs.

The store, which has donated over $4 million to charity, stocks a variety of unique gifts, books, decorations, and clever household items.
