Economic Vitality and Business Attraction

The Castro is world-famous for its vibrant and visible LGBT community and its small, owner-operated businesses attracting thousands of tourists and visitors each year. The Castro CBD is committed to promoting the economic vitality of this world renowned community. Through a unique collaboration between the Castro CBD, Merchants of Upper Market and Castro (MUMC), The Mayor’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development, and the S.F. LGBT Community Center (The Center), The Center’s Economic Development Department, is assisting businesses, small and large, to find the perfect location in the Castro.

The Castro Upper Market neighborhood is a welcoming place for all types of businesses.
